Weill and Britten Cabaret

Parish Hall at Emmanuel Church
Boston, MA
TICKETS

In a program curated by tenor Charles Blandy and the Arneis Quartet, Kurt Weill’s cabaret songs, a product of the earthy, sensuous and melancholy Weimar era, share the stage with his String Quartet, Op 8. Meanwhile, the lighter side of Benjamin Britten is aired in his posthumously published Cabaret Songs from the 1930’s. The counterpoint of Emmanuel’s signature composer, J. S. Bach receives surprise “reverential homage” in one of the presented works.
